History of Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Established as the National Wildflower Research Center in 1982, the organization was later renamed in honor of its founder, Lady Bird Johnson, in 1997. The current campus opened in 1995 on a 42-acre site in Southwest Austin.
